TESTIMONIALS
These group classes are amazing. They are not your typical fitness class or boot camp.

What I’m finding is that my body is better than it was at 20. I’m stronger and healthier than I’ve ever been.

Since that first class, I have never looked back. I am a totally dedicated DUFFer.

I would recommend DUFF classes to anyone.

I was getting fit, sleeping better, my back was not bothering me and my depression was gone! Seeing results and the feeling of happiness after a challenging workout, started to outweigh bad unhealthy things.
We moved to Charleston in September 2013 and quickly found ourselves in a downward spiral of not being able to say no to the social events, great restaurants and cocktails! Although fun in the moment, I felt an underlying depressed and frustrated feeling of “how did I let myself get to this point again”. I knew I wasn’t truly happy emotionally and physically.
I was not overweight by definition but that does not mean I was not WAY out of shape. My muscles were weak, my posture poor, my back was starting to hurt again and I had low energy. Working out on our own and at traditional gyms were not cutting it.
Then we heard about Duff through a friend! The workout structure seemed right up our alley. We were excited to find group or 1-on-1 high intensity, interval, weight and cardio training all in one place! For a while my husband and I put off joining. We said to ourselves, “before we can justify paying for another gym membership we need to prove we can do it on our OWN first”.
Well… some time passed and the viscous cycle just continued. Finally, I realized we NEED motivation and support from a group. We NEED someone to keep us accountable and to help us get back in a routine. So…we pulled the trigger and signed up with DUFF on the spot for 3 months so we would feel committed to go! I was nervous for the first session and honestly a little embarrassed to say I played college soccer. That was quickly replaced with comfort as Andrew, Anna and all of the other trainers made us feel so relaxed the moment we walked in the door.
I was totally out of shape my first session; I could barely do 1 push-up correctly and was tired after just 10 body weight squats! Determined, we stuck with it for 3 months and I was already seeing results! I was getting fit, sleeping better, my back was not bothering me and my depression was gone! Seeing results and the feeling of happiness after a challenging workout, started to outweigh bad unhealthy things. Of course, there were days I did not want to go, but I knew if I could just step inside the door the trainers and group support would help me the rest of the way!
The workouts are constantly changing so you don’t get “burnt out” and the trainers focus on safe functional movements that everyone can do, instead of intimidating lifts that can cause injury. DUFF trainers are especially experts at personal modifications if the exercise is too hard/easy to ensure everyone gets the best workout possible for their fitness level. Even when I injured my shoulder from working on my house, DUFF still encouraged me to come to class. They gave me specialized workouts to accommodate my injury and helped rehab me to health . This is especially rare in a group workout setting!
I have been a DUFF member almost a year and a half now and I feel strong, confident and happy! I get asked all the time how much I workout. People often assume because I look fit I must work out everyday and eat perfect, but that is far from the truth! I started building lean muscles (and yes ladies I said LEAN NOT BULKY) and noticed working out 3-4 times a week was plenty to see results and I could eat more too! I don’t beat myself up if I indulge here and there because my body burns calories much more efficiently now! I am so happy I found DUFF and it is a part of my life now!
Thank You DUFF!!

I used to have a lot of pain in my lower back and he has helped me work through that and strengthen those muscles (i actually forgot i had this issue until this moment because i haven’t felt the pain in so long).
During my teens and twenties, I was an active, albeit average athlete. In my thirties my career took over and I spent ten years sitting behind a desk with my main form of exercise coming on the golf course. During those years I packed on the pounds. I first met Andrew about nine years ago and he has been instrumental in helping my change my habits.
I have lost fat and added muscle since then. Whether it was through personal training or his group fitness classes, I have discovered a way to keep active that I hope will take me through my fifties and into my sixties.
Duff hugely impacted my life! I can now run a mile 2 minutes faster than my previous fastest mile, recently completed a 15k run, can lift weights I'd never dreamed of lifting, and have changed my diet in ways that have me feeling better than I've ever felt.

Andrew keeps me on track with not only my workouts at DUFF, but my workouts/cardio at home, and also my nutrition. My body has changed completely. I love being thin, but more than that, I love seeing the DEFINITION in my body. I feel strong and healthy and younger at 41 than I did at 20. And it is all due to Andrew! I can’t thank Andrew enough for helping me change my life!! Kim H.

There’s no comparison or competition. Andrew can reach anyone on any level.

I’ve been doing DUFF for 3 years now, and it has totally transformed my life. The motivation and accountability that DUFF provides is incredible and is the reason for my success.

My confidence level is out the roof and I feel that I can accomplish anything now.

I fell in love with this workout. Every time I can’t wait to workout.

I needed a support system, structure, motivating trainers and some really cool people to help me reach my goals and enjoy the process. And that last piece for me personally was D.U.F.F.
I crash dieted for a few months and lost a lot of weight, only to gain it back simply by smelling fried food. Back weighing 300ish again, I no longer supported the weight with a large athletic build, at this point I’m actually just quite pudgy.
Fast forward to 2013 our wedding Is fast approaching! If I can’t shape up for this I’m truly a lost cause! At this point in life I’ve heard of interval training’s benefits and even tried some crazy competitive crossfit classes (which I quit because I was tired if being ostracized for not being able to do 1000 double unders in a minute).
I thought between my wife and I, we could make me loose the weight.. And I did… All by myself… To my lowest ever, 255lbs at my honeymoon… But a vital piece of the puzzle was missing and I weighed 300 again before year end.
Feb 2014 was when I realized missing piece of puzzle. I needed a support system, structure, motivating trainers and some really cool people to help me reach my goals and enjoy the process. And that last piece for me personally was D.U.F.F.
I’ve never seen results or training that actually last. And I truly believe D.U.F.F. Training works because:
1) the D.U.F.F. training Philosophy is state of the art. Andrew, Anna, and Team are educated in the most advanced methods to safely tone you and help you cut fat!
2) Support structure and motivating trainers. When I get lazy and feel like skipping I know my fellow Gym Mates and trainers will help me stay on track and accomplish goals.
3) Fun workouts anyone will like. It’s cliché to say, but there are days when it’s so fun it doesn’t feel like exercise. Their is so much variety like beach workouts, rope climbing, obstacle courses, running, lifting, jumping, etc…
4) Likable, non-intimidating TEAM. There is a reason people come back to D.U.F.F. It’s because everyone who walks in the door is greeted by a genuinely good likable trainer who is excited to help you improve. And you won’t be ostracized for not being able to do cool intense lifting moves.
5) Lastly, proven lasting results. Ask anyone if the hundreds of clients and they will agree. I personally in 1 year of D.U.F.F. have reached a new personal best reaching 245 lbs and loosing 10% overall body fat and with the before mentioned 4 points I am confident its permanent.
I would urge anyone to just show up and meet the staff. If nothing else try 1 workout. You’ll be glad you did!”

My time spent with Andrew was both physically and mentally rewarding. Rather one on one or in a boot camp workout, Andrew has a gift for helping you reach your full potential. If you trust him and give 100%, he has the knowledge and ability to help you transform your mind and body.
I am 46 years old. I was very active when I was growing up. Playing sports was part of my everyday life. As an adult, I became an avid runner. It was something I really enjoyed until my back started bothering me in my late 30’s. From the age of 39 until just 4 months ago, the only exercise I did was some occasional walking. Basically, my lack of exercise and the fact that I sit at a desk for 40 hours a week was only making my back feel worse. My friend and Chiropractor, Dr. Stephen Khouri, told me for years that the only way I was going to experience less pain in my back was to exercise and strengthen my core.
Finally, this past April, between my back and my sciatic nerve causing me pain, I had enough. Even though the last thing I felt like doing was working out, I was determined to try and finally see if I could get my core stronger and if that would help with my back pain and sciatic nerve. The next big question for me was where to work out. I happened to run into Jeff Crosby and asked him about DUFF. After he described the gym and gave me some encouragement, I went by the next day and signed up. The funny thing is, I had not worked out in any way for 7 years. I did not own a pair of exercise shorts. I wore khaki shorts my first few workouts at DUFF.
DUFF has been a great experience for me. Eli and Andrew have a workout plan specifically for me. They have brought me along slowly, careful monitoring my exercise routine. There are certain exercises that they have me do to strengthen my core and legs and they keep me away from exercises that could cause me to hurt my back. Eli has offered constant help with my technique on the different exercises we do. The exercises and the stretching have made me feel better than I have in years. My back doesn’t hurt when I get out of a chair or pick up a clothes basket full of clothes. I am able to do much more yard work without pain. I am able to be in the car without any pain in my sciatic nerve.
Everyone has their own reasons to come to DUFF, mine are an improved lifestyle through less pain in my back in sciatic nerve.
I have a lot of work still to do get my core stronger but I am encouraged about where I am headed. I thought my days of working out were over so it feels great to be able to exercise again. I am very grateful for DUFF and the improvement in my health!
Brian M.“Growing up dancing ballet, I’ve always considered myself health conscious (or more so, weight conscious.) I’ve never been particularly heavy, but it’s hard to hide anything when you’re wearing next to nothing standing in front of a mirror 2 hours everyday (not to mention constantly comparing yourself to other much smaller girls.)
In high school, my idea of eating right was diet coke, lean cuisine microwavable dinners, and Special K cereal. Safe to say with the amount of artificial junk I was eating, I saw little improvement. I was stuck on the whole calories in, calories out model. Taking in 1,000 calories or less a day, sure I saw a change in the scale but I wasn’t seeing a change in my body. I wasn’t eating or exercising for fat loss, plain and simple. What I was doing obviously wasn’t working, it wasn’t safe, and it wasn’t sustainable.
It wasn’t until I got to college that, funny enough; I did a complete 180 and turned to naturopathic nutrition and functional exercise, which became a passion. The first two years of college I spent restoring my metabolism the best I could. By the summer of my senior year I met Andrew. This was one of those, better late than never situations, because he truly was the missing link.
It wasn’t until I started working out with Andrew that I was able to push past my plateau. I not only saw a change in my body but in my attitude as well. The small group class setting and the individualized attention that Andrew gives his students is absolutely what led to my success. I could not do a regular push-up to save my life and never, in my wildest dreams, thought I could do a pull-up. Not even a year later and I can knock out reps on reps of 90 degree or even nose to ground push-ups and I can almost taste how close I am to a completely unassisted pull-up.
With that said, Andrew is the most genuine and motivational trainer I have ever worked with. In his classes, there is an unrivaled sense of camaraderie and encouragement that drives you to go a little faster and push a little harder. You know there is something special about a fitness program when you feel completely dead after a workout and you can’t wait to wake up the next day and do it all over again.”
